I GOT THE HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nov. 14th, 2009 at 11:14 AM
For those of you that know me in real life, you know exactly what I'm talking about. The hair in my eyebrow. I GOT IT. I've never felt such a sense of accomplishment. Ha!

Here's the deal. I'm a wacko about my skin/eyebrows. I pluck every day, unless I'm trying to grow them in a little thicker. I saw this tiny dot of a hair - I mean, it was under like five layers of skin, and I still couldn't just leave it alone. Usually when I just see a little speck of hair, it's still grabbable (is that a word?), so it's not a problem. (If there's a hair speck, it's gone. I don't wait to let it grow out.) But this baby was REALLY in there. I performed surgery on it EVERY DAY. I dug so deep. My medical procedures went on for three days, but yesterday, I GOT IT.

Do I have a big bloody pit on my eyebrow? Yes. Do I look like a heroin addict who picks at her face in a frenzy? Yes. But do I feel satisfaction at getting the hair? YESYESYESYESYES.

Would you rent or buy the home of your dreams if a brutal murder had taken place there? What if you got to live there rent-free? Would you think twice if neighbors warned you that it was haunted?

I would totally buy the home of my dreams if someone was brutally murdered there! But I wouldn't live in it rent-free.

Okay... I'm pretty lazy and haven't really updated this thing in a long while. So here it goes:

-I unfortunatly did not get the promotion, but a friend of mine did.
-I am still obsessed with the 10th Doctor! David Tennent is brillant!
-I have rekindled my love for my SNES and have spent the majority of the time I was sick, playing Donkey Kong Country 3.
-My voice has come back!
-My shindig went very well and ended up in a mass body art explosion...
-An LJ friend that I met in real life appearently has known me for far longer than I thought... like, I was 5! And she's apparently on my sister's facebook page because they're online friends too. And apparently my Ma used to work with her dad... And we used to live in the same neighborhood! And we just found all this out last night.

-And I need your help! I'm making a Winter/Christmas cd... but I'm leaning towards a specific mood... and I'm having trouble figuring out what that mood is. But anyways, here are the songs that I have so far:
Tori Amos - Winter
Feist - Mushaboom
Josh Radin - Winter
Sara Boreilles and Ingrid Michaelson - Winter Song
Steve Miller Band - Winter Time
Smashing Pumpkins - Christmas Time
Gwen Stefani - Early Winter
John Williams - Carol of the Bells
Bing and DAvid Bowie - Little Drummer Boy
Juan Atkins - Snowflakes Falling
Everything but the Girl - 25th December

I just had the best date with a handsome Italian guy.

Granted, he's a little shorter than most of the men I've dated... ;-)

Nico and I had a fabulous time at the movies. He was a little scared at times (the movie was a bit intense for little ones!), and he kept saying, "They're coming in here with us???" when the characters came flying at us in 3D. But he really enjoyed it. He wouldn't even put his 3D glasses on until about 30 minutes into the movie because he was too scared by the previews. (Why are most 3D movies so creepy? It always seems like they show previews of the creepiest, weirdest 3D movies.)

He ate an entire LARGE popcorn on his own! He's only three! And he's a little tiny fella, not chubby in the least. But boy, does he have an appetite!

Now I'm settling in for the night. No plans other than to watch Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders later. Kelly, text me when you get on!

These things I know...
1. Having no voice what-so-ever sucks!
2. People do not take the time to read lips or watch as I try to charade whatever it is I'm trying to say.
3. Dan is going to have to host tomorrow's get-together.

I have no hot water. For a while I was supposed to have no gas, either, but it turns out I'm on the "good" line so at least I can cook.

Yesterday I braved the icy water and took a shower anyway. Today I boiled gallons and gallons of water and had a ... something that almost resembled a shower.

This no hot water thing is supposed to last ... a week?
I can take showers at work (family I work for Monday, Friday and Saturday but the mom said I can come in any time to use the shower... I might take her up on that, but I like to shower at home, darn it!)

I... can I blame my mom for this? Haha. Probably not. But she did say, over and over, that she loved my shower and that you felt so *clean* and it was such a nice set-up. It is, and I agree.... I love my bathroom. But what good is a great bathroom if you can't take a hot shower in it?

But anyway. Turns out that there's a leak on the pipe somewhere so ConEd turned the gas right off, and then when the plumber guy came to fix the pipe they noticed that the pipes are too narrow and not up to current standard, so they need to re-do it all anyway. I feel sorry for my landlord, this can't be cheap (in fact, the numbers I've heard are in the 7-10.000 range, which pretty much sucks big, big time). Today he said they'd work out a rebate for me and the discomfort, but... honestly, I don't want a rebate... they'll need any little extra bit right now and it's not as if he did this.
Then again, a week without hot water might change my mind.

I am finding, however, that one does not need that much water. I know I waste a ton of water when I shower because I'm a shower addict who loves to just stand under the water and meditate at times. Or dream, or whatever. So I bet this is a good lesson, if anything. Dishes can be done with half a gallon hot water, cold is good for rinsing. Etc, etc.

I will admit that hot and warm water is a necessity. It makes all the difference to be able to wash your face in warm water as opposed to icy cold. You can boil the water though, and mix it with cold to get desired temp, and use just a bowl of it instead of however much you end up using when you just let it flow.

Other than that, antibiotics are done with and instead of a stuffy nose I now have a bloody nose. The fuck? My nose is messed up, I guess I just have to deal with it? I usually get more of a dry nose in the winter, though, so I guess it's just the way it is.

I almost debated ordering pizza tonight, then realized it's ... well, this game on tonight, so I re-thought and figured a Hot Pocket would suffice. Another one would have been even better, but hey, I can deal. And I don't want to cook tonight, for whatever reason, so I'll just go to bed a bit earlier instead.

Oh. And last week on Medium they opened with this thought, or monologue, or whatever, that said that you never dream of dying. That if you ask any school-child, they'll tell you that if you dream of dying, you will. So hey, guess what? I'm either a ghost right now, or about to die very soon, since I dreamt I died last night. Or... it wasn't me, because I was someone by a building with a hardhat on, but I was not a construction worker (inspector, maybe?) Anyway, the building was about to crash, and I could feel it was about to crash, but for some reason when it happened I just thought "Well, no avoiding it" and just went with it, and then everything went black.
So... well. Either that college essay they talked about in that monologue was wrong, or you have to be yourself in the dream, or... something. But I'm pretty sure I'm still alive, although I guess there's no telling for how long.

My bed looks awfully comfy right now, so I think that's where I'm headed. Goodnight.
The amusement park season is over now. We ended it just like we did last year, at Six Flags Over Georgia. That's not a standard to end the season on, it just happened to fit into our schedule that way. We just really wanted to go here and didn't know of another time we could squeeze it in. We certainly don't really want to visit this park in the summer.

brief report of Six Flags Over Georgia )

After the park closed, we got a head start on getting back home by driving two hours out. This also got us the heck out of Atlanta. I really don't care much for Atlanta. We didn't want to pay the ridiculous prices for a second meal at Six Flags, so we were starving when we left. The only thing out there really was McDonald's. Urgh. Well, I got the Mighty Kids meal with the apple slices, so it wasn't so bad and hey, I got a neat toy! Anyway, as we were sitting there, we noticed they were playing Christmas music!!! hahaha. Come Nov 1, I'm pretty ready for Christmas music, but I didn't think anyone else was. I wondered who was in charge at that McDonald's. ;)

Speaking of Christmas music, we listened to it all the way home today. We finally listened to Tori's Midwinter Graces. It is a really nice mix of traditional classics with some original stuff all thrown together, sometimes in one single song. Tori appeared to take some effort with it. Some musicians just seem to slap something together quick, making an album of some standard Christmas songs. Tori didn't just slap it all together just to make some money off it. The album had mostly slower songs, but they were really nice and felt very appropriate to the season. I liked the piano in Snow Angel and I loved the strings she added to some of the songs. I really loved her version of Coventry Carol. Midwinter Graces was Tori putting her own slant on Christmas music without demeaning it. Just what we thought a Tori holiday album would be.

Oh, we also listened to the Christmas music they play at Epcot during the holiday season. Michael found the 50 minute loop somewhere online. It's really great!

We didn't take too many photos, especially at Six Flags Over Geogia. But we did take a few. We also stopped by the Tennessee Visitor Center at Nickajack Lake on the way home and they had some beautiful fall foliage there that we took pictures of.

see some pictures! )
